    Fees

My fees are £65.00 per hour. You will be purchasing a modern and cutting edge therapy, that will be focused on helping you to achieve goals and help you to meet your needs in life today. It is unlikely to take many sessions and you may feel better much sooner than you expect to. Feeling is believing.

    Extra Information

What brought me into counselling ?
Well I'd long wanted to work in a caring type role to help disadvantaged people. I have certainly been through a number of difficult life experieces myself which have served to both educate and build me. I have learned much through lifes ups and downs and from everyone I have met in every area of my life. I don't regret anything. My desire was to help hundreds or even thousands of people rather like Bob Geldof and co had in Africa with Live Aid, however it dawned on me that my real talent lay in one to one work with people when a colleague of mine became extremely depressed due to a number of things in their life going wrong, and turned to me to help them. I knew nothing about counselling then but somehow, just being truly there for them, to give them the space to speak freely and to be heard, genuinely caring for them, helped them through it. I realised I had the qualities needed for this type of work and that this was the way in which I could fulfil what I believed to be my calling.

I then embarked upon what amounted to 6 years of part time training and many thousands of pounds investment to become a counsellor, and later to update my training to learn what I believe is the best therapy model available today, namely the "Human Givens" approach. However, I would not be effective no matter what approach I used, if I were not the right kind of person for this work. Many thousands of hours counselling people, and many words of postive feedback from my clients have confirmed to me that I am in exactly the right place and for the right reasons. In a world that is increasingly stressful and sadly less caring, I quietly help to make a difference to peoples lives, and in doing so fulfil a wider desire to help humanity; I wish it could be thousands at once, but realise that I must be patient and help people one at a time, but this in itself can touch everyone in a client's life in a positive ripple effect, so in reality more than one person receives the benefit.

My background before I became a counsellor was one of many roles working at Royal Mail for 25 years, plus some work in local radio and currently for the worlds most famous station, Radio Caroline, still broadcasting on Sky 0199 and the internet, and yes they still have the radio ship, the last working example in the world, which I often work on in my spare time with the restoration crew. In my own life I am divorced with two grown up lads who I see regularly. I have grown to be very happy indeed with the person I am. My work, friends and many hobbies keep me very busy, but I have no doubts whatsoever that I will settle one day when the time and person is right, but my work of course will always carry on. My long term aim is to help prevent mental and emotional health suffering through education and effective counselling, thereby also relieving and even preventing some poor physical health conditions. I believe it is indeed a very achiveable aim.
