Counsellor Profile

I am a BACP Senior Accredited Counsellor/Psychotherapist with more than 10 years experience in GP surgeries, the voluntary sector, private practice and with Employee Assistance Programmes. I have worked with many different people on a range of issues from work stress, relationship problems, bereavement, trauma, depression, anxiety, sexuality, eating disorders, to needing to work out who or what they are.

My consulting room is in a quiet, rural location in a small village between Henley and Wallingford. This is ideal if you are looking for the chance to get away from the stresses and strains of everyday life and take some time and space for yourself. I work in consulting rooms at the front of an equestrian centre. There are fields all around and an atmosphere of calm.

I like to work with what people bring to me, feeding back comments, observations or interpretations in a way which is focused on helping you to find the answers you need. I believe everyone is an individual capable of change or of finding a way through their difficulties, if they can find the right help. I am aware that while some are seeking solace, others are looking for change. My core approach is psychodynamic, which means that I think about what may have happened in the past which could be influencing you now. Elements of CBT and solution focused working have been integrated into my approach so that I can tailor the work to whatever someone is bringing.
