Counsellor Profile

Hi! My name is Sam. I undertake long and short-term face-to-face work and will help clients to deal with anything that causes distress or difficulty.

I believe that you are the expert in your own experience and I am here to support you on your journey by listening, empathising and accepting your reality.


I am currently in advanced training with The Sherwood Psychotherapy Training Institute, in an MA in Humanistic Person centred Psychotherapy.

I consider myself to be a sincere, warm individual, sensitive to the needs of any given situation or individual.

I am a member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and as such I adhere to their framework for ethical practice.

Child Protection and Domestic Abuse Training (2006-2007)

I have extensive experience in the emergency services, in domestic abuse, hate crime, defusing and debriefing incidents. Counselling experience includes work within University Counselling Services, Bereavement Services, Employee Counselling Services, Working with survivors of rape and sexual abuse and Women’s Centres.

    £30 per session.Concessions are available (students, OAPs and low income)

    My own personal ethos is to offer each client a safe, supportive and confidential environment. I aim to build a respectful relationship through mutual trust and acceptance. I hope to empower the client to explore and find the best strategy or solution for their own issues or problems through empathy, understanding in a non-judgemental way.
