Counsellor Profile
As a BACP member I have worked in both the voluntary and private sector. I see people on an individual basis and work with a wide range of issues. I can offer both long and short term counselling.
Fundamental to my approach is my belief that experiences and events in our past can manifest themselves in many ways in our present. For some people this may be in a destructive way. Counselling may help you to understand how some of these past experiences may be affecting your life in the present. Through the counselling process we can reflect on these patterns and consider the way you relate to yourself and others, thus allowing changes to begin.
I work from a peaceful counselling room which offers privacy and a safe environment to explore issues at your own pace. I am both Psychodynamically and CBT trained, however common to my approach is my belief that it is only the client who has the power to implement change and the modle of counselling is just the route that best suits the individual.
