As a BACP Accredited counsellor, I provide a safe and confidential space for individuals and couples. I am experienced in both private practice and the NHS; as well as being a registered provider with BUPA and other health insurers.
I work with relationship issues, depression, trauma, abuse, loss, self-esteem, identity, anger, anxiety, long term health conditions, and other issues. I can also offer psychodynamic supervision.
I also have experience working with adoption issues; and can help support those searching for birth relatives.
The premises are easily accessible with parking in front of the building, just a few yards from Stroud College.
Also I offer telephone counselling for UK residents, for those unable to travel to the premises. Payment for telephone counselling is by PayPal on my website at www.lintravis.co.uk/telephone.

Training, qualifications & experience
In my private practice in Stroud, I provide a safe, confidential and supportive environment for individuals and couples. Having begun working as a counsellor in 1996, I have extensive experience both in private practice, and in the NHS. I presently provide counselling one day/week in a local NHS occupational health service.
As well as working with individuals, I have also trained and worked in Relate as a couples counsellor.
I use a psychodynamic approach that is also influenced by person-centred and existentialist ideas. I am also experienced in using CBT, (cognitive behavioural therapy), where appropriate. For me, developing a good therapeutic relationship with my clients is a really key part of the therapy.
If you have health insurance, you may like to know that I am a recognised provider of therapy for BUPA, Aviva Health, PruHealth,Cigna and WPA.
My qualifications are:-
- BSc Psychology
- BSc(Econ) Social Philosophy
- Diploma in Counselling (Person-centred/existential)
- Post Graduate Diploma in Psychodynamic Counselling
I have also undertaken various shorter term trainings and workshops including CBT, clinical supervision, mindfulness and Dynamic Interpersonal Therapy.
I am an Accredited Member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy.
I feel I draw on all my trainings and experience in my work, tailoring the approach to fit your individual needs in a way that is supportive, respectful and non-judgmental.
