I work with mainly with adults who seek personal growth through understanding and those who have experienced trauma in their lives related to a particular event in adult life and/or from childhood experiences.
Some of the issues that individual's face where this approach is helpful, include:
* Experiencing a period of difficulty or distress
* Personal transition, perhaps after bereavement or another life event
* A loss of meaning, direction or purpose in life
* Unhelpful patterns in relationships
* Experiencing low self-esteem or self-confidence
* Experiencing work-related stress or bullying
* Difficulty in relationships with food, or self-injuring in other ways
* Feelings of unease or emptiness whether the cause is recognised or not

I am an active member of the Scottish Institute of Human Relations (SIHR) and as such subscribe to their aims, which are '...to facilitate the growth of individuals in their sense of themselves, their relationships, their workplaces, and cultural environments through the application of psychoanalytic, psychodynamic, and systemic ideas.'
