Counsellor Profile
I trained as a person centred therapist but as my practice has developed my approach has become more integrated, combining cognitive behavioual and solution focused models into my way of working. With clients who have experienced a traumatic event I use EMDR where it is appropriate to do so.
My aim in counselling is to create a safe place for the client, where they are not judged, and are able to explore how past experiences and relationships maybe impacting on their current feelings, thoughts and behaviours.
I find that my managerial background and experience as a business/personal development coach assist my counselling practice when working with clients who have work-related issues.
