Counsellor Profile

“I was named Annot for a Walter Scott heroine and I’ve learned that Sir David Wilkie, the famous Scottish painter, was one of my distant ancestors. My maternal grand mother was a suffragette.

I've had a long and varied career with some sadnesses and many happy times. I started nurse training when I was 18 and met my husband, Roger, a doctor, while I was nursing in my 20s. We have two children.  My daughter is a nurse and my son works in politics.

I completed my Open University degree while I was in my 30s.

I recently became a Quaker after standing on the touch line of Quakerism for around 20 years. I am committed to the Quaker campaigns to end war and for nuclear disarmament. I also attend clowning classes and have done dance improvisation in my time.

Roger and I live on the North Lancashire coast overlooking magnificent Morecambe Bay and we spend much of our free time walking and gardening.

I strongly believe that psychodrama and psychodramatic bodywork® can really add something to many peoples’ lives, as it has to mine”

I am a very highly qualified and experienced practitioner. I began my working life as a general nurse and became deeply interested in the power of psychodrama and action methods during the course of my career.

When clients come to me they can be confident that I will deal with them professionally yet with empathy. My objective is to help people live fully and in good health.

My role is multifaceted: I'm a presence, playful, brings freshness to situations, problems and experiences and sees humour in life as well as pathos. I relishes new adventures, am intuitive, have fertile curiosity, much creative energy, uses close and personal contact.

My work is empowering: I create a space into a place where anything, including the impossible, can happen!
