Awareness is curative. ~ Fritz Perls
I am an experienced BACP Accredited psychotherapist working in Malvern, Worcestershire, or on Skype.
People come to work with me when they are feeling stuck, or sick and tired of an ongoing issue. Some are at crisis point. They have relationship issues with their partners, family or friends, they are anxious, depressed or stressed, they have issues with spirituality or meaning, they are struggling with addictions or low self-esteem, they are dealing with abuse from the past or they have other issues.
In therapy you will find a safe space where we can begin to untangle the knots and find new ways of seeing things and of taking action. Held by safe boundaries, your story will unfold over time and you will be able to make clearer decisions about how you go forwards. It's not always an easy process, but therapy will reach places that it's very difficult to reach in any other way (e.g. by getting support from friends).
I work from a humanistic perspective, and I am influenced by Buddhist psychology. I have faith in our capacity to change, whilst being realistic about how difficult this can be. I enjoy my work and see it as a great privilege.
I also offer psychotherapy supervision to therapists (including alternative therapists) and spiritual mentorship - see my site to find out more.
I do therapy work on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays and have afternoon and evening slots - do get in touch to find out if I currently have space.
As well as working locally in Malvern I am comfortable working on Skype and I have been doing this for many years.
The wound is the place where the Light enters you. ~ Rumi

In a typical therapy session my clients will talk about what's happened during their week, things that have been troubling them, memories that have come up, their relationships, their dreams, how they feel about being in the session today, or whatever else comes into their minds.
Together we follow this material and it takes us where we need to go, even if sometimes we're not sure where we're going until we get there.
I will notice links and patterns, ask you occasional questions and share insights. More than anything I will listen carefully to what you are saying and make sure that I understand what is happening as closely as I can. Through this process of awareness you will become clearer about what you are saying and we are also taken into fresh territory.
This less structured kind of therapy can sometimes feel mysterious but after many years of working in this way I have a deep faith in the process.
Still not sure? The best way of working out whether you'd like to work with me or not is to book a first session (maybe book sessions with a couple of therapists) and have an experience of spending time together before you make a decision. I look forward to meeting with you.
