Profile

As an experienced BACP Accredited counsellor, I work with individuals on issues such as relationships, bereavement, abuse, anxiety and depression. I also work with couples who are experiencing difficulties in their relationship and need a safe space where they will have the opportunity to speak and be heard in a non-threatening, open and respectful environment.

Over the past few years I have become increasingly interested in problems faced by women struggling to come to terms with miscarriage, infertility, menopause and ageing - hidden grief which is often hard to share. I also have extensive experience of working with loss, bereavement and life transitions and a particular interest in difference and the individual search for creative living.

My background is in the Humanistic tradition and I work in a person-centred way, believing the client to be the expert on his or her own life and experience. I offer to actively listen and support clients in finding their individual forward direction at this particular moment.

I have experience of working with a wide range of clients in several counselling agencies in Edinburgh, including Cruse and the Scottish Cot Death Trust.

Since 2004 I have been in private practice in Edinburgh, working with individuals and couples long and short term. Some clients only needed a few sessions to put themselves back on track whilst others needed longer term support with deep seated issues or life changes.

I moved to London in 2011 and am now working in private practice in Kingston upon Thames.
