Profile
Based in central Leeds, I am a psychotherapist and counsellor working in private practice with individuals and couples on a very wide range of issues. I have particular experience in working with anxiety issues, as well as depression, anger and low self-esteem.
As well as working with people who contact me privately, I also work with staff of major companies such as BT, O2, British Gas and the Royal Bank of Scotland Group, so have a lot of experience working on employment issues, as well as personal and relational problems.
Training, Qualifications & Experience
I trained at the Whittington Hospital NHS Trust in London, so began my work as a psychotherapist with people who had been referred by their GPs.
My training enables me to work in a way that is specifically appropriate to the needs of an individual or couple. Having trained in Integrative Psychology, I have a background in the major methods of psychotherapy, including Gestalt, Transactional Analysis, Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy, and Psychodynamic Psychology.
That all sounds a bit scary, but my own preference is to work in a focused, supportive and challenging way, understanding you as a whole person rather than as a problem to be solved.
I have specific training and experience in couples work (using a focused six-session model), and extensive experience of working with trauma, bereavement and sexuality issues.
