Profile

I am an experienced counsellor, supervisor and life coach using an integrative model of counselling for my psychosexual and relationship therapy work for couples and individuals. My professional practice is known as ZION Counselling, with counselling rooms in Muswell Hill, North London and also in Dunstable, Bedfordshire.

My approach is to totally accept my clients no matter what their issues or chosen lifestyle. I accept and respect my clients and have a genuine desire to travel with them on their journey, so as to enjoy the life that was intended for them.

Although I work directly with couples experiencing relationship and psychosexual issues, there are some occasions where clients may prefer co-counselling, where I see them with a female counsellor, and that may be available.

I am committed to my clients but that can never exceed their own level of commitment to increase their self-awareness and move on in their lives.

Training, Qualifications & Experience

My counsellor training commenced with undertaking an advanced certificate in counselling and also a certificate and diploma in Christian counselling. I have also completed stages 1, 2 and 3 of the ACC's Supervisor's training; the model of supervision used is the double matrix seven-eyed model.

In addition to my core training as a counsellor, I have undertaken numerous CPD courses, including intimacy therapy, marriage and counselling couples, addictions, eating disorders, anxiety and stress, working with traumatised children, personality disorders, and panic attacks. I also hold a certificate in life coaching.

I am a member of BACP (MBACP) and the Association of Christian Counsellors (ACC). My working practice abides by the ethical codes of BACP and ACC. As a General Member of the British Association for Sexual and Relationship Therapy (BASRT) I am bound by its Codes of Ethics and Principles of Good Practice for Members and subject to its Complaints Procedure.

I have worked as a trainer, personal tutor and supervisor on various counselling courses.

Fees

Counselling and psychosexual therapy is charged at £40 for a one-hour session.

Supervision is charged at a fixed rate of £40 per hour for qualified counsellors, students and trainees.

Life coaching is charged at £420 for a course of six one-hour sessions (full payment is required at the first session) and includes telephone contact in-between sessions between the coach and the client to monitor agreed action plans.

Further Information

My model of counselling uses the 'best' of secular schools of thought, including psychodynamic, person centered, CBT, REBT and TA where inner-child work has often shown itself effective with clients experiencing difficulty in aspects of self-nurturing. Psychosexual work employs a wide range of accepted techniques and strategies to address the sexual dysfunctions and relationship issues brought to therapy.

My model of supervision is the well-known double matrix seven-eyed model of supervision.

My counselling rooms are conveniently situated just off the North Circular in Muswell Hill. The location is accessible from most parts of London and the Home Counties. There is plenty of non-metered parking available.
