Profile
Sometimes we find ourselves struggling through difficult times and/or we remain deeply affected by events in the past. If you are finding life hard to manage right now, counselling may help. I will provide a safe, confidential space where you feel accepted and able to explore your true feelings and worries without fear of judgement or disapproval.
However, it can seem really hard to know which counsellor is the right one for you so for this reason I do not charge for the first session. The relationship between therapist and client is a key factor toward a positive outcome, so this complementary first meeting can help you to come to an informed decision as to whether or not you feel comfortable with me and would like us to work together.
I am primarily a person-centred counsellor but sometimes I work more integratively with other humanistic approaches depending on the client and the issues involved.
Training, Qualifications & Experience
BSc (Hons) Psychology, Post Graduate Diploma in Person-Centred Counselling. I am also shortly completing a Masters in Psychotherapeutic Counselling at Brighton University.
I currently work within the NHS in general practice, at secondary schools and in private practice. My counselling rooms are quiet and comfortable with easy parking nearby.
I have received Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and addictions training through the NHS and have also had experience working for an addictions clinic and Refuge, the domestic violence charity.
