Central England Therapy Centre

If you are struggling with difficulties in your life - in your relationships, work, or how you feel about yourself - then counselling can really help. I support clients to find the cause of their problems, what is stopping them from changing, and work out how to move forward positively in their everyday lives.
I offer a warm welcome to new clients at my clinic in Kings Heath B14.
I have experience working with:
anxiety * depression * relationship issues (individual not couple work) * bereavement * low self esteem * confidence building * assertiveness * work stress * separation and loss * abuse * identity confusion * life purpose and transitions
It is possible to make profound changes in a short space of time (6-12 weekly sessions) or you may find that a period of longer therapy suits you better. We can discuss this at the start and review as we go along.
Here's what some of my clients have said about working with me:
"Alex took time to get to know what made me me. She provided a space free from judgement and criticism and helped me to see a way forward even when I felt completely stuck.."
"I had preconceptions of “therapy” being about lying on a couch and uncovering dark secrets about the past. It’s true that Alex uses a range of approaches to help you reflect on what you’re feeling and where some of those thoughts and experiences may have come from, but it’s all done in a natural, calm setting. It feels much more like an honest chat than a heavy therapy session. Alex is patient, compassionate, and a great listener."
"Immediately I met Alex, I knew she was the right person for me. I found it easy to be open and honest with her about my thoughts and feelings, and she was able to help me unravel emotions that had been influencing me all my life."
I am fully qualified, and senior accredited with BACP and have been practising as a counsellor since 2005. I also work as a life coach so you may find some of the work we do is solution focused or goal orientated when you are ready to move things forward.
