Profile

My private practice is based in a comfortable, quiet, ground floor therapy room with on-road car parking. I am located near to the A47 for ease of access from the central road networks.

I work with individuals with issues including bereavement, separation and/or divorce , relationship problems and problems arising from past experiences such as abuse and early trauma. Therapy may also be helpful where there is a sense that life feels empty, meaningless or unfulfilled.

I work psychodynamically and analytically which means linking current behaviour and relationships with past early experiences and relationships. These links are then observed within our own therapeutic relationship which brings into awareness hidden and unconscious aspects of the personality. This then allows for the possibility of change.

I work with patients once a week or more frequently depending on what is needed and appropriate.

Advanced Diploma in Psychodynamic Counselling 2001
I commenced training as a Jungian Analytical Psychotherapist with the West Midlands Institute of Psychotherapy in 2004. I have undertaken a 2 year 'infant observation' study where I have observed an infant's developing capacities to relate and interact within the family environment. These early interactions help to shape our ability to relate and manage stress in adult life.

I abide by the WMIP Code of Conduct Guidelines.

I am a member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy and am bound by their Code of Conduct Guidelines.

I have past counselling experience working within Higher Education with young adults. In my private practice I work with adults of all ages. I am also working with adults within the NHS in a psychotherapy clinic.
