Counsellor Profile

During unsettled and unpredictable times perhaps the quest to understand and know yourself becomes even more important. Life may present difficult and challenging circumstances which can be dealt with in a more confident and sustainable way when you feel an inner sense of security and safety. Counselling and psychotherapy offers support for this journey of transformation so that you can understand the wounds that you may have suffered from a more empowering perspective. This process helps facilitate a growing sense of inner security and self-worth to enable you to live your life in a more fulfilling way.

I have been working as a counsellor, psychotherapist and healer for 3 years. I am committed to providing counselling, psychotherapy and healing in a safe, confidential and non-judgemental environment.

My professional practice adopts an integrative approach to counselling and psychotherapy in order to meet the individual needs of the client. This means that I try to help the client understand their emotional difficulties from various psychological perspectives. The therapeutic alliance is central to this process and is perhaps the most important factor in facilitating change. I offer a warm, sensitive and empathetic therapeutic relationship where the client feels safe, valued and accepted with their concerns and issues being genuinely heard and understood.

I am a member of the British Association for Counsellors and Psychotherapists (MBACP). I am also an accredited healer at the College of Psychic Studies (CPS) which is affiliated to the Confederation of Healing Organisations (CHO). Both organisations require a strict ethical code of practice ensuring confidentiality and respect for client individuality.

    Fees

Each counselling/psychotherapy session is one hour. The cost per hour is £40. I have a limited number of concessionary places available for evening sessions.

I also offer reduced rates for daytime sessions and reduced rates for those on a low income so please ask when you contact me.

It is usual to organise an initial meeting. One of the most important aspects of this type of work is for you to feel comfortable with me. This initial meeting gives you the opportunity to begin to discuss your concerns and for me to give a little more detail about how I work. It also allows you to decide whether I am the therapist for you.

    Extra Information

Previously I was a teacher for 20 years educating children and young people with severe and multiple learning disabilities. This experience has provided a solid foundation for me working as a therapist. I worked with very challenging and complex children and adolescents which enabled me to develop my expertise and ability to analyse, understand and provide an education and therapeutic programme to help these pupils develop to their fullest potential.

My practice is within easy reach of Blackheath, Greenwich, Woolwich, Plumstead, Welling, Bexleyheath and Eltham. There are frequent buses from these places or there is ample parking for anyone wishing to drive.
