Counsellor Profile
I am a child and adolescent mental health therapist and family therapist.
I have worked with children and their families for many years, first as a nurse and then as a school nurse, and I currently work at Frimley Children's Centre in the Child & Adolescent Mental Health Service.
I work with children and adolescents on their own and with their parents/carers, so counselling/therapy is usually a combination of individual and family sessions.
In my experience some problems resolve quite quickly and others need more time, but an average would be 6-10 sessions over 6 months to a year.
I have four children and four step-children and I know therefore that family life can sometimes be challenging . I believe good relationships are very important for the emotional well being of all family members, and that when families work on issues together this can have a positive effect for everyone.
