Counsellor Profile

I am a Qualified experienced Integrated counsellor CBT, TA, PC. I believe that counselling should be flexible to suit individuals needs, whilst ensuring confidentiality within a safe enviroment. I have been working as a counsellor/psychotherapist for many years now. I settled in Chesterfield in 2000 and it was there that I opened my private practice, Finding J.i.m.m (Just in my mind). I believe as we are unique Individuals, we have the ability to explore, make genuine choices, become self aware, assertive and to be able to cope with any issues that we are faced with.
Since 1998 I have been training/teaching counselling within the East Midlands, and after settling in Chesterfield I began designing, delivering and lecturing counselling courses at Chesterfield college.
Within my counselling practice I also hold short courses in Confidence building, Anger management, Effective communication, Assertiveness and Relationship coaching to name a few.
I design courses for the NHS,DWP and various companys, associations and schools.
I am currently working towards my BACP accreditation and abide by their ethics and good practice.

My approach to counselling is an Integrated approach. I believe that one size does not fit all (one theory) therefore even with therapy, flexablity for the Individual must be available to all. I believe we all have the ability to be what we want to be and the ability to choose for ourselves what that is. By providing a safe/confidential place to explore issues and within that be able to self develop to become happier and mentally healthier Individuals.
