As a counsellor, it is my experience that when faced with unmanageable and overwhelming feelings some people may benefit from the help of a trained professional. These feelings may be due to depression, low self-esteem, anxiety, bereavement or relationship issues, to name but a few.

As a trained counsellor with fourteen years experience working with GP- and self-referred clients, my aim is to help clients to become conscious of the unconscious drives (which usually have their roots in our childhood) that make us behave and react in certain ways, and then to change them.

I work at home in a comfortable and confidential room where a warm, yet challenging, environment allows my clients to explore their thoughts and fears, with my help and support. This results in clients being able to take more control in their life, however confusing or frightening the past may have been or the future may seem.  

I have been counselling since 1997 and have a Diploma in Psychodynamic Counselling from the Westminster Pastoral Foundation. I am also a member of, and accredited by, the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy and I abide by their Code of Ethics.

In addition, I attend regular professional training events to ensure that I am fully aware of current issues and practices in the counselling world in order to provide the best possible service for my client.

Initially I prefer to have a meeting to establish whether we both feel we could work together and this meeting usually lasts for (up to) an hour and a half. For this I charge £40.

If we agree that we can work together, further sessions last for fifty minutes each week on an ongoing basis. I charge £40 for these sessions.

I also work with couples who are having difficulties in their relationship.
