Counsellor ProfileI am a person-centred counsellor which enables the client to lead the counselling and discuss whatever they wish. I work from home and can offer the client a relaxed, non-judgmental atmosphere in which to explore issues. These issues can be long standing problems which may have affected your life long term such as childhood abuse or they could be recent relationship problems, stress, bereavement or anxiety. I adhere to the BACP Code of Ethics and all my work is supervised. I appreciate that confidentiality is of paramount importance. Normally clients visit weekly for hourly sessions and I can offer evening appointments for clients who work.
Training, Qualifications & Experience (more info)
I have a Diploma in Person-centred Counselling and 7 years counselling experience and am a member of the BACP. I have been trained by and worked for Victim Support and also I have undertaken a Cruse Bereavement Course in 2006/7.

Extra InformationI have various life experiences to draw upon including family illness, single parenthood, bereavement and living on a low income. I have also counselled clients in a refuge who were victims of domestic violence as well as in their own homes and have worked for Surestart.
I first became interested in counselling when I had relationship problems myself and was recommended to counselling by a friend. I found that counselling helped me to understand myself better and I was more able to ask for what I wanted in life. It also helped me to make decisions.
