Profile
Welcome to my profile! I have been a person-centred counsellor now for 10 years and hold a Diploma in Counselling, in addition I have been trained by Cruse in Bereavement Counselling and have also worked with Victim Support and Sure Start. I have worked in the voluntary sector, where I have worked in a women's refuge and also supported clients in their own homes. I have experience of working with young adults over a number of years and am CRB checked. I now work from home and can offer clients a relaxed, homely environment in which to explore any issues they wish. Problems such as stress and anger management, relationship problems, bereavement or anxiety can all be resolved through counselling. In addition long term deep-rooted problems can also be addressed and talking through these issues freely and being heard in a non-judgemental way can be a great relief.
I adhere to the BACP Code of Ethics and my work is supervised. I appreciate that confidentiality is of the upmost importance. I offer hourly sessions and can offer evening appointments for clients who work. Home visits are also possible if required, at a small extra fee. My fees are £30 per hour and I try and keep these as low as possible to make counselling more accessible for clients from all walks of life. Even though a lot of my work has been with women, I amalso happy to counsel men. Counselling can be a slow process but very worthwhile and you have made the first step by looking on this website!

Further Information
I have various life experiences to draw upon including family illness, single parenthood, bereavement, caring for an elderly relative and living on a low income. I have also counselled clients in a refuge who were victims of domestic violence as well as in their own homes and have worked for Surestart.
I first became interested in counselling when I had relationship problems myself and was recommended to counselling by a friend. I found that counselling helped me to understand myself better and I was more able to ask for what I wanted in life. It also helped me to make important decisions in my life. The support and understanding of a counsellor was very empowering and gave me confidence to move on.
