I offer therapy that is based on the belief that all persons have within them resources to live as fully as they can and as an experienced person centred counsellor aim to work with you to create a safe , supportive and accepting environment based on genuine and deep understanding and non-judgemental acceptance.
Counselling is a positive step in working through the problems you may have in life whether caused by trauma, bereavement, relationships or the every day difficulties of day to day life.
My areas of experience include dealing with life limiting illness, whether suffering the illness or being a carer, loss,transition, bereavement, depression, anxiety and personal development.
I am experienced in group facilitation including group supervision and have trained in mindfulness based stress reduction.
I obtained my counselling diploma in July 2006 and my supervision diploma in July 2012 and I work both in private practice and as a hospice counsellor & supervisor
I offer short and long term counselling for individuals,couples, adults, young people and children (age10+) at £40 per session for individuals and £50 per session for couples.. Supervision session at £40. Group supervision rates by negotiation.
Reduced rates for counselling students (£35 per session), GP referrals (first 6 sessions @£30)
Training, qualifications & experience
I have experience in many areas of counselling work, such as bereavement, anxiety, self esteem issues, carers support, working with the dying and their families. I have received additional training for working with children in bereavement and for working with families.
My background is the financial sector and education.
I hold Diplomas in Person- Centred Counselling and in supervision and am a member of the British Association for Counsellors and Psychotherapy (BACP) and as such,I am bound by its Ethical Framework for Good Practice in Counselling and Psychotherapy and subject to the Professional Conduct Procedure therein.
I am accredited by the National Counselling Society and an approved National Counselling Society supervisor.

My usual fees are £40 per session. Sessions last 50 minutes.
Reduced rates may be available for those on low incomes -please ask.
To help decide if counselling is the right thing for you the initial assessment session is free of charge.
Home visits may be available subject to arrangement.
