Counsellor Profile
I am a psychotherapist specialising in the use of hypnosis and as a member of the National Register of Hypnotherapists and Psychotherapists I adhere to its ethical framework. As part of my work within the NHS, I am also trained in harm reduction helping those suffering from the effects of drug addiction.
I use an integrative approach to therapy, combining hypnosis with cognitive behaviour techniques (CBT) to help clients identify the underlying cause of presenting symptoms and change unwanted patterns of behaviour. I provide an empathetic and non-judgemental environment for a client to be able to explore difficulties in their life.
I have experience of working with a range of stress related problems including depression, anxiety and panic attacks, bereavement, weight control, irritable bowel syndrome, pain relief, smoking, anger management, travel sickness, performance anxiety and low self-esteem. I have completed a research project on Obsessive Compulsive Disorder.
I also provide support for couples preparing for fertility treatment, pregnancy, birth and parenthood through the use of hypnosis by helping to restore the natural balance in the body.
