Counsellor Profile

I have worked as a therapist since 1970 -at first with movement (eurythmy) and with music, and since 1989 as a counsellor. For 25 of these years I was a member of the therapists' team at the Blackthorn Trust, a medical charity associated with a Maidstone NHS practice. I now work as a counsellor, supervisor and life coach in private practice. I live in Maidstone with my wife, son and daughter. In addition to my family and my work, I have a life-long interest in music and the outdoors.

Training, Qualifications & Experience (more info)

I completed my initial training counselling/psychotherapy at the Psychosynthesis and Education Trust in London in 1989. Since then I have been seeing clients privately and as a member of a therapist team at an NHS practice. I have been involved in therapeutic and healing work since 1970.

In 2004 I received a diploma in supervision from Cascade Training Associates and began to supervise counsellors and other professionals. In 2006 I received a Diploma in Life Coaching from Newcastle College.

Prior to these, I completed training in eurythmy (1976, Vienna Eurythmy School) and therapeutic eurythmy (1980, Stuttgart, Therapeutic Eurythmy Training), which I practiced professionally for 10 years.

In 1959 I completed a degree in music (BSc, University of Texas at Austin). Following that, I completed a philosophy degree in 1962 (PhD, University of Texas at Austin).

Fees

My fee is £45.00 for a 60-minute counselling session and £35.00 for a 60-minute supervision session. In some cases I am able to negotiate this amount. Life coaching session fees are negotiable

Extra Information

In addition to daytime sessions in West Malling, I offer some evening sessions in the Barming area of Maidstone.
