Profile
When was the last time you asked yourself "What do I need and what do I want?"
These questions are often dismissed and forgotten about. Counselling helps to address these questions by finding ways to answer them. By asking ourselves what it is we need and want from our lives we can begin to find ways to achieve these things. At times we feel very lost and uncertain of how we got to this place in our lives.
I believe our relationships are the most important part of our world, and therefore they are often the most complex!
It is these relationships where we often struggle to get what we need and want and ultimately feel fulfilled. These may be at home with your partner or your family, in your social life with friends, or at work with colleagues.
How long will I be coming for? I am a counsellor offering short term and long term counselling and psychotherapy to individuals. The duration of therapy is always tailored to your needs and expectations, but I would usually recommend a mimimum of six sessions. This can be discussed at the initial consultation. However sometimes one session can be enough to make the change you needed!
How can counselling help? Counselling can help to make sense of the different types of struggles which we face, allowing for a deeper and richer understanding of these struggles so that changes can be made. It can help you identify the options you have in front of you, and the methods you and resources you have to approach the important decisions. Often we try to ignore our fears and anxieties because they are too painful, but we find they don't go away. When we confront them and challenge them, we can find new ways to live with them.
Can I get counselling funded through my insurance company? I am a linked provider with various insurance companies so this may be an alternative option for you.
Initial Consultation - The initial consultation is an opportunity for us to meet and discuss any hopes and fears that you may bring to therapy. It is also an opportunity to see if therapy is suitable for you at this time and something that could be of benefit to you. It will also give you the opportunity to meet me and decide whether I am someone you could work with.

I practise as a private counsellor/psychotherapist across 3 days from a private clinic in Odiham, Hampshire, with the capacity to see both adults and adolescents.
I work the other 2 days at a secondary school as a Lead School Counsellor offering individual counselling and group psychological therapies to adolescents aged between 11 - 18 years.
I have extensive experience of having worked with both adults and adolescents in the mental health system, giving me a rich understanding of the mental health problems individuals currently face.
Times are changing and they bring new challenges and fears. These can be very frightening and they leave us questionning our place in the world, and how best to fulfill ourselves and those we love around us. It puts particular pressure on our relationships and sometimes we need guidance and support to help us manage them better.
