Counsellor Profile
I am a psychodynamic counsellor registered with UKCP and accredited by the BACP, with 15 years of experience of working with individuals with a wide range of issues.
I trained for six years with the Herts and Beds Pastoral Foundation (now Herts and Beds Counselling Foundation), part of the Westminster Pastoral Foundation, gaining the Advanced Diploma in 1998.
In my private practice I usually work in an open-ended way offering an opportunity for clients to explore areas of difficulty, understand themselves and their relationships better and make more informed life choices. I can also offer time-limited counselling where that is appropriate, focusing on a specific area enabling people to manage their lives more effectively.
As well as my private practice, I work in a GP practice and a counselling centre. I also teach counselling skills courses in a further education college, for Herts and Beds Counselling Foundation and several voluntary organisations.
I adhere to the BACP Ethical Framework for Good Practice in Counselling and Psychotherapy and I have Public Liability and Professional Indemnity Insurance.
I have regular supervision to help me to reflect on my work.
