Counsellor Profile

I am an Accredited Member of the British Association for Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapists, a Member of the British Association for Counsellors and Psychotherapists and a member of the United Kingdom Council of Psychotherapists. I hold a Masters in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and Counselling. I have worked in Independent Practice for the past 7 years. I have comfortable and relaxing consulting rooms in Abergavenny where I see patients from a diverse section of the community.I have lived in Monmouthshire for 11 years , in a smallholding with my husband and adult daughter and a menagerie of animals.

I qualified as a counsellor at the Royal Forest of Dean college Gloucester. I then went to the University of Wales Newport where I took my Masters in Counselling and qualified in 2003. I have worked for a Local Authority as staff counsellor for 7 years. I have also run counselling services for staff of the Welsh Ambulance Service and the Gwent Healthcafre Trust for 5 years consecutive. My other clients come from referral from GP's, insurance companies and individual self referral.
I work with a diverse nature of conditions, including PTSD, OCD, BDD, Depression, Anxiety, Marital Problems, grief and all kinds of abuse, current or historical.
I am in regular supervision and attend continuing development.
