Speaking to Australian magazine Who, Ms Kidman said: “I got married really fast and really young. ‘Then when it didn’t work out I had to really dig deep and find my way through depression. I have no regrets about all of it. It was all part of growing up.”
Nicole Kidman married the Top Gun star when she was just 23 years-old. During their marriage, the couple suffered numerous miscarriages and an ectopic pregnancy (where the foetus develops outside of the uterus).
After many years of fertility treatment, the couple finally decided to adopt their two children, Bella and Connor.
Sadly, in 2001, the A-list couple decided to split. Ms Kidman describes the period after the divorce as the “loneliest, loneliest existence”. She began to think she would never find love again but, after finally finding herself in a place of forgiveness and love, the now 45-year-old has finally found love with country singer Keith Urban, who she is now married with.
The couple now have two children together, defying Kidman’s fear that she would never bear biological children.
