Bullying charity to close unless funding is found

Award-winning anti-bullying charity, Bullying UK is to close at the start of September unless it can raise £50,000. The charity, which won The Pride of Britain Award in 2005, is calling on members of the public and businesses to help them raise the much needed cash which will allow them to continue providing support to over 500,000 young people and their families every year through its email helpline service.

Founder of the charity John Carnell has said: “We have recently been refused central government funding, even though our service provides a lifeline to suicidal young people and distressed parents every single day. All we need to fund the service for a year is £50,000.”
